MAGIC HOUR

Such beautiful, orange sunsety light! I force my sister to participate in my endeavors when I head home.

Tried to come up with a concept using my old prom dress, and the high school football field. Check out more photos on my site.

ILLUMINATION FOUNDATION HOLIDAY PARTY

This year the Illumination Foundation held their annual Holiday Party at Pretend City Children's Museum in Orange County. Having never been there, I was shocked at how awesome this museum is. If you have kids, take them there. It is a 6 year old dream come true. You can play mailman, artist, banker, fire fighter, police man, farmer, chef.... The city is fully functional - you do a job and get a stamp, the stamp gets you money from the ATM, then you can buy things, such as food from the store.

The foundation hosted the event, as well as dinner, and brought in a Santa Clause, who gave the children donated gifts. The charity aims to help homeless families get back on their feet. To find out more please visit their website at www.ifhomeless.org or to see more photos visit Illumination Foundation Events

KELLY B COUTURE SPRING '10

Today was spent in Venice shooting model Ashley Bowers for Kelly B's Spring 2010 line. We used the local scene - the walk streets of Venice, Kelly's back yard and the beach. KellyB is an eco-friendly line that you can find in higher end boutiques. Check out her website, Fall '09 line is about to hit stores (and I also shot that!).

ILLUMINATION FOUNDATION

The Illumination Foundation held it's second annual fundraiser, "Racing for Homeless Families," at the Los Alamitos Race Track in Southern California. The proceeds from the silent and live auction all go towards providing stable housing and services for 75 homeless families and children. A high school senior, who was homeless at one point, also shared his story and the struggles of having no where to go home to.

I was honored to contribute my time to such a worthy cause. Please get invovled! To view more photos from the event please visit: http://www.ifhomeless.org/#page=RaceParty

ADRIAN GRENIER via 400MM

OAKLEY "LEARN TO RIDE"

Oakley hosted a weekend long workshop in Santa Barbara where celebs had the opportunity to take surf lessons from the pros - the Oakley Surf team, that is!!

The weekend consisted of a welcome dinner, surf boot camp, and an end-of-the-weekend bash under the stars with the Madden brothers DJ'ing.

It was my first opportunity to use a 400mm lens. While another photographer was in the water, actually shooting while surfing, I had a my-size lens on a tripod on the beach. I felt like a sniper, except catching celebs like Adrian Grenier, Mario Lopez and Ashley Greene eating waves for breakfast.

EDDIE CIBRIAN SIGHTING

Eddie Cibrian, who was accused of having an affair with LeAnn Rimes, was spotted (by my camera) out with his wife, Brandi Glanville, at Yogen Fruz in Beverly Hills. A set-up to help build their positive marital image...your guess is as good as mine?

GOOD GIRLS PR - THE REUNION

Good Girls PR hosted a silent auction at The Gibson Musical Instruments Showroom in Beverly Hills, CA, to help raise money and awareness for Locked-in Syndrome. Locked-in Syndrome is most well known from the recent film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, an amazing true story about Jean-Dominique Bauby, the editor-in-chief of Elle France, who suffered a stroke and was completely paralyzed, yet wrote an entire memoir by blinking one eye.

Good Girls Give is a non-profit organization set up in honor of Patrick Chawki, who has had Locked-in syndrome for 10 years. For more information, to make a donation or to see pictures from the event please visit Good Girls Give at: http://goodgirlsgive.org/make_a_donation.html

FOXTAIL - WEHO

Josh Hall, partner of United Media, held his 25th Birthday Part at Foxtail Lounge in West Hollywood. Foxtail is a two-story lounge and club that plays house music upstairs and hip hop downstairs, like most clubs it is very dark. I’ve only used a flash a handful of times, and only in daylight or well lit areas. The manual setting is a little bit difficult to perfect. I think I did alright though - the background didn’t come out as warm as I would have liked it to - but the client was happy and had a great birthday.

There was a Step and Repeat out back for guests to be photographed at, which is similar to a red carpet arrival with a specialized backdrop. Inside, Josh and had two private tables, bottle service and trays full of cupcakes and fireworks!

LEO CARILLO

Around 5 PM I had the bright idea that driving up past Malibu to go camping would be a grand idea. Well, minus sitting in traffic for 2 hours, setting the tent up in the dark, and hearing a wild animal attack in the middle of the night - it was. Leo Carillo campsite is one underpass away from a world of ocean exploration. Early in the morning there are hundreds of tide pools and ocean caves exposed. Plus, retro looking bright blue life guard stations, an ocean side hike and wild life. I took my tripod with and got some great long shutter shots at night.

SUNDANCE 2009

January 15, I headed to Park City, Utah with the Polk Imaging team, to shoot various events at the Sundance Film Festival. Some of us were lucky enough to fly, while others endured the 11 hour drive.

Polk Imaging divided to shoot for a few different clients: Got Milk, TMobile and Oakley. Chris Polk photographed celebrities and guests who stopped by The Got Milk studio - every guest got painted with a milk mustache before they were photographed! Everyone had a lot of fun in the studio - Christina Milian, Kaycee Stroh and Danielle Fishel were just a few of our faves.

I assisted at the Got Milk Studio, mainly working as the computer technician. The Canon 5D Mark II was tethered to a 30" screen using Capture One software, so guests could see their photos immediately. After picking a favorite photo I would print a copy for everyone.

When we were done working we drove over to the Oakley house where we shopped the basement and picked out brand new jackets, pants, boots and gloves. Then we hit the Park City slopes with the Oakley snowboarding team. What a trip!

PATRICK MOOTE AND THE 'STACHE

A friend of mine, Patrick, offered to help me test out a new Nikon D60 today by taking some fun head shots. You might recognize him, from ABCs 'Greek' or 'How I Met Your Mother,' but then again, maybe you won't because when he showed up today he also brought a new furry friend... and I'm not talking about the jacket.
